Mayor Rob Keffer visited Kumi Canada Corporation last week to provide personal congratulations to Kumi Canada Vice-President Justin Moreau, on the company being selected as the winner of the Bradford Board of Trade (BBT) 2020 Economic Development Award.
The winner of the Economic Development Award is decided by Town Council. Mayor Keffer noted that Kumi was selected on the basis of their charitable work with Helping Hand Food Bank and the United Way, their support and encouragement of students through co-operative education, and their substantial business contributions.
Despite a challenging year, Kumi Canada Corporation completed their planned 50,000 square foot expansion and complemented this with new hires. They also brought contract and temporary workers up to full time status, with benefits.
The BBT hosts their awards gala annually, acknowledging the tremendous contributions made by our merchants. Due to COVID, this year’s gala was held ‘virtually’. Mayor Keffer’s visit complemented his video presentation, made at the gala on October 30.
